KEEPING UP FOR TOMORROW

TOMORROW IS THE DUE DATE FOR ALL THE MODULE 3 ASSIGNMENTS.  ARE YOU THERE?

TOMORROW IS A NEW ELLUMINATE STARTING THE MODULE 4 TOPIC, SACRED ARCHITECTURE.  THERE WILL BE AN ADDED “ELLUMINATE RESPONSE” QUESTION ONCE THE 10:15 PRESENTATION IS COMPLETE.  IF YOU CAN NOT TUNE IN AT THAT TIME FOR IT TO BE LIVE, THEN YOU WILL  NEED TO REVIEW IT LATER AS YOU  WILL NEED THE INFO SHARED TO ANSWER THE RESPONSE.

IF YOU DID NOT GET TO DO THE “ART OF THE DAY” ATTENDANCE YESTERDAY (AS IT WASN’T POSTED TIL LATE) YOU MAY DO TWO TODAY.  NORMALLY YOU CAN ONLY GET CREDIT EACH DAY ONLY.

ALL OF MODULE 4 ASSIGNMENTS HAVE BEEN POSTED WITH DUE DATES.  PART OF EACH ASSIGNMENT WILL NEED TO BE TURNED IN IN YOUR PORTFOLIO ON JANUARY 14 BUT THE OTHER QUESTIONS NEED TO BE TURNED IN BY THE DUE DATE FOR EACH ASSIGNMENT.

ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY

When you have nothing else to do over the week long “free” time, you might get caught up with all the Module 3 stuff that is due by Dec. 2……so we can then begin Module 4, all about sacred architecture in the world.  Just a thought.  If you didn’t turn in your portfolio assignment (3.03) at the meeting yesterday, you can mail it to me at 341 E. Marwood, Fresno, 93720  or, if you know how to scan on your printer, do the self-portrait drawings and send them email.

I once spent Thanksgiving in Paris as a post-graduate college student, where, of course, they did not celebrate our American holiday.   We went from restaurant to restaurant hoping to find turkey on the menu with no luck.  Finally, we went to the American Embassy and they let us go to their cafeteria where they were serving turkey to their employees.  What a treat.  So enjoy your families, surround yourself with their love, we all have much to be thankful for in this country.

TOURING FRESNO SCULPTURES

TUNE IN TODAY…. Elluminate starts at 10:15 a.m. sharp.  We’ll view figure sculptures from the Fresno Mall, CSUF and courthouse park.  If you miss it you can connect to the presentation later so that you will be able to complete the “Elluminate Response” assignment related to this program.  See you then!

DUE DATES

As you will note, there are specific “due dates” listed under “Assignments” in the ART HISTORY course. It is important that you complete your assignments by those dates so we can progress at an even pace to the ultimate goal of completing the class. First one due is to bring your portrait drawings to the face-to-face meeting this Thursday. This is from Module 3, 3.03, so skip to that if you haven’t done 3.01 or 3.02 yet. The rest of that module is all due by Dec. 2 when we will start Module 4 which is about famous historic sacred architecture. You need to keep up with the work.

This week’s Elluminate will be on local/regional sculptures in our area. You’ll probably see some you didn’t even know about!!  (Wednesday at 10:15)

SCULPTURE, SCULPTURE, SCULPTURE

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE DUE DATES FOR ALL THE MODULE 3 ASSIGNMENTS. WORK ON THEM NOW SO YOU CAN ENJOY THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAYS WITHOUT THESE HANGING OVER YOUR HEAD. ANY MORE “DAY OF THE DEAD ALTARS”? I’M HANGING THEM IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE TODAY, COME SEE THEM.

I’LL BE IN LOS ANGELES THIS WEEKEND AND PLAN TO VISIT THE UCLA SCULPTURE GARDEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CAMPUS. IT IS A SPECTACULAR PARK LIKE ENVIRONMENT AND YOU CAN GO RIGHT UP AND TOUCH ALL OF THE SCULPTURES….A GREAT SENSATION. YOU CAN DO THAT ON THE FRESNO MALL AS WELL!!!

THE BLINKING EYE

Someone notified me that they could not check in or do Module 3 lessons yesterday because the assignments were hidden. Well, it seems that the person who was helping me put the art images with the assignments closed the viewing for students by manipulating the icon (an eye) available for faculty to update stuff. I did not notice that the eye was shut, oops. So now all the daily activities are open as well as all the assignments in Module 3 by opening the eye. So I give you permission to go back and do the Monday, Nov. 9 Daily Activity. Thanks for your patience….I may be a whiz in Art History but not so great in technology. We each have our own talents.

FRESH START

Today, Monday, Nov. 9, is the day to start Module 3, the Sculpture Unit. I have left due dates open in the past which seemed to give some of you the idea that you could wait forever to do them…..so this is to let you know that all of the Sculpture assignments will be due by Tuesday, Dec. 2. There is one assignment that is for portfolio turn in when next we meet so I suggest you do it first. This is the one about facial/portrait proportions. We will meet on Thursday, Nov. 19 so you need to get busy to get them done on time to turn in that day! You should like this assignment, it will increase your drawing ability!

So, start now!!!!

There will be No Elluminate session this Wednesday  Nov. 11, is a holiday….Veterans’ Day.  There is a wonderful  art exhibit   at Clovis Memorial District Building until the 12th relating to honoring our soldiers past and present, plus art by elementary students on the same subject.  It is worth your attendance.  See if you can find my art piece.

TUESDAY DEADLINE

All portfolio assignments  due tomorrow (Tuesday)….or else.  I bought a folder for each of you.  They are listed in my blog titled “oops…update”.  No excuses.

Must have name for “Day of the Dead ” person  by then.
